Medicare in Port Angeles & Sequim
Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, with its Sequim campus, is the hospital for Clallam County, and the Jamestown Family Health Clinic in Sequim is one of the largest primary-care practices on the Peninsula. Clallam County’s Advantage menu is short, and the network question is twofold: does the plan include Olympic Medical Center, and does it reach UW, Swedish or Virginia Mason in Seattle for the cardiology, oncology and surgery that a small district hospital refers out?
Sequim’s rain-shadow climate has made it one of the state’s best-known retirement towns, and most newcomers arrive with a plan from somewhere else. A Medigap policy covers Olympic Medical Center and the Seattle specialist alike without a network, and in Washington it can be changed any time; an Advantage plan needs checking on both sides of the water every fall.
