Medicare help in Kennewick, Washington
Trios Health in town, Kadlec across the river in Richland, Lourdes in Pasco — three hospitals under three owners, and a fast-growing retiree population that needs a plan whose network includes the right one.
What to know before you compare plans in Benton County
Kennewick’s hospital is Trios Health, but Tri-Cities residents cross the rivers constantly, and a Kennewick retiree’s cardiologist is as likely to be at Kadlec in Richland as at Trios. Each of the three hospitals contracts on its own terms with the Advantage carriers, so the first question is which network includes the hospital and the specialists you actually use; for tertiary care the answer is Spokane or Seattle, a long drive either way.
The Tri-Cities are among the fastest-growing retirement destinations in the state, drawing people from the west side and from California with the sun and the river. Many arrive with a Medigap policy from elsewhere and are glad to learn that in Washington they can change it any time; others arrive with an Advantage plan that needs re-checking against local networks.

When you can enroll
Turning 65? Your Initial Enrollment Period is the 7 months around your birthday. Already on Medicare? The Annual Election Period is Oct 15–Dec 7, and Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment runs Jan 1–Mar 31. Already have a Medigap policy? Washington lets you change it any time of year.
Your options
Which kind of plan fits you in Kennewick?
Medicare Advantage
All-in-one Part C plans, often $0 premium, that use a local network — so whether UW Medicine, Providence, MultiCare or Kaiser is in it matters as much as the price.
Medigap pairs with Original Medicare and lets you see any provider in the country that accepts Medicare — and in Washington you can change plans any time.
Benton County typically offers a moderate Medicare Advantage menu, every Medigap carrier in Washington, and the full Part D lineup. Availability is set by county and changes each plan year; we compare what is sold at your address.
Is Kadlec in my Advantage plan?
Kadlec, Trios and Lourdes each contract with some Advantage plans and not others, and the lists change every fall. A Medigap policy with Original Medicare covers all three. We confirm your doctors before you enroll.
How much does your help cost?
Nothing. Independent agents are paid by the carriers when you enroll, so comparing plans and reviewing your coverage each year is free to you.
