Medicare help in Everett, Washington
Providence Regional Medical Center and the Everett Clinic anchor the county; Naval Station Everett adds a retiree community; and a lot of Everett’s Medicare population commuted to Boeing for thirty years and is retiring with employer coverage to untangle.
What to know before you compare plans in Snohomish County
Everett’s care map is simpler than Seattle’s and still easy to get wrong: Providence Regional Medical Center Everett is the hospital, the Everett Clinic (now part of Optum) is the biggest physician group, Kaiser Permanente Washington has its own Everett medical center, and Swedish Edmonds covers the south county. Each contracts differently with the Advantage carriers, and a plan that includes Providence Everett may not include the Seattle specialist you were referred to.
Boeing’s Everett plant means a large share of local retirees reach 65 with employer or retiree coverage, and the question of whether to delay Part B, or how retiree coverage coordinates with Medicare, comes up constantly. Naval Station Everett’s retirees have TRICARE For Life, which changes the calculation again.

When you can enroll
Turning 65? Your Initial Enrollment Period is the 7 months around your birthday. Already on Medicare? The Annual Election Period is Oct 15–Dec 7, and Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment runs Jan 1–Mar 31. Already have a Medigap policy? Washington lets you change it any time of year.
Your options
Which kind of plan fits you in Everett?
Medicare Advantage
All-in-one Part C plans, often $0 premium, that use a local network — so whether UW Medicine, Providence, MultiCare or Kaiser is in it matters as much as the price.
Medigap pairs with Original Medicare and lets you see any provider in the country that accepts Medicare — and in Washington you can change plans any time.
Snohomish County typically offers a broad Medicare Advantage menu, every Medigap carrier in Washington, and the full Part D lineup. Availability is set by county and changes each plan year; we compare what is sold at your address.
I am retiring from Boeing. Do I need Part B now?
It depends on whether your coverage is active-employee coverage (which usually lets you delay Part B without penalty) or retiree coverage (which usually does not). Get the answer before your coverage changes; the Part B penalty is permanent. We walk through it with your benefits paperwork.
How much does your help cost?
Nothing. Independent agents are paid by the carriers when you enroll, so comparing plans and reviewing your coverage each year is free to you.
