CarolinaEast Medical Center is the hospital for New Bern, Havelock and the Pamlico coast; on July 1, 2026 it went out of network with Blue Cross NC’s Advantage plans, citing payment denials and delays, while CarolinaEast Physicians stayed in network and emergency care remained covered. Its planned UnitedHealthcare exit was pushed back by an extension.
