Medicare in Kapolei
Kapolei, Makakilo and the Waianae Coast share Honolulu County’s full Medicare menu: Kaiser Permanente, HMSA and national-carrier Advantage plans, every Medigap company licensed in Hawaii and the full Part D lineup. Hospital care on this side runs to Queen’s West Oahu in Ewa Beach and Pali Momi in Aiea, both of which contract through HMSA and the national plans; Kaiser members are referred to Moanalua.
The Akaka VA Clinic brought primary care, specialty care and imaging to West Oahu veterans who used to drive to the Tripler campus. For veterans it does not change the Part B rule: VA care is not creditable for Part B, and the late penalty is permanent.
