What to know before you compare plans in Doña Ana County

Doña Ana County offers a deep Advantage menu, every Medigap carrier in New Mexico and the full Part D lineup. MountainView Regional Medical Center (168 beds), Memorial Medical Center and the newer Three Crosses Regional Hospital each sign their own Advantage contracts, and a large share of the region’s specialty care happens in El Paso, Texas, which a New Mexico plan’s network may or may not include. A Medigap policy has no state line.

White Sands Missile Range retirees carry TRICARE For Life, which changes the calculation entirely; Fort Bliss and the El Paso VA are just across the line. Our Texas section covers El Paso and Fort Bliss from the other side.

Questions from Las Cruces

Frequently asked questions

Which Medicare plans are available in Las Cruces?

Doña Ana County typically offers a deep Medicare Advantage menu, every Medigap carrier in New Mexico, and the full Part D lineup, set by ZIP code and changing each plan year.

Can I see a doctor in El Paso with a Las Cruces plan?

With Original Medicare and a Medigap policy, yes. With a Medicare Advantage plan, only if the El Paso provider is in that plan’s network or the plan covers out-of-network care, which we confirm before you enroll.

How much does your help cost?

Nothing. Independent agents are paid by the carriers when you enroll, so comparing plans and reviewing your coverage each year is free to you.
