Medicare in the region
Southeast Ohio runs along the river from Marietta to Ironton, and its health care does too: Marietta Memorial, O’Bleness in Athens and Holzer in Gallipolis on the Ohio side, Camden Clark, Cabell Huntington and King’s Daughters on the other. Advantage plans are sold by Ohio county and draw their networks around Ohio systems, so the first question we ask is where your doctors actually are.
Advantage menus here are short and got shorter for 2026. For most families along the river the practical answer is Original Medicare with a Medigap policy, which pays on both banks, plus a Part D plan chosen around the pharmacy you use. We serve every town in the region by phone and video.
What to watch: The river counties have some of the shortest Advantage menus in Ohio, and a large share of care happens in Parkersburg, Huntington and Ashland across the river. Ask specifically whether an Ohio plan’s network reaches those hospitals; a Medigap policy does without asking.

Turning 65? Your Initial Enrollment Period is the 7 months around your birthday. Already on Medicare? The Annual Election Period is Oct 15–Dec 7, and Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment runs Jan 1–Mar 31. A plan leaving your county opens a Special Enrollment Period.
